For some reason, I missed my Substack anniversary this year. It was technically on February 11th, but due to whatever was happening that week, and the fact that there was no calendar notice or email to alert me, I forgot to celebrate. Why, you may ask, is this worthy of celebration? Well, my friends, if you have ever committed to doing something consistently, you know that each milestone becomes something worthy of celebration. And writing? It's truly something that requires time and attention to do well.
Over the last three years, I've learned a lot about writing. I've learned a lot about myself, my process, including what works and what doesn't work, and what seems to resonate with you, the reader. Thankfully, through the thoughtful notes and ongoing encouragement, you have been there supporting me and engaging in this journey where we are working towards mental health reform. Thank you!
On this anniversary, I want to do what I would do if I were approaching this like a new program or any new effort - I want to hear from you. I want to know your take on this Substack, and the only way I thought to best do that was to ask you. Substack makes this easy by giving me tools like the ones I will use below. So today's post will be less about a particular topic and more about this Substack and where we go next.
Yes, I realize that some of these questions may seem unfair as they force you to choose one option over another, but your responses are incredibly valuable to me as they help me understand what content resonates most with you. If you have additional feedback, you can also just email me and tell me your thoughts or leave them as a comment below.
If you are new to this community, welcome! There's a wealth of content waiting for you to explore. Over the past three years, I've tried to address timely issues related to mental health and policy, providing contextual understanding of our current landscape and offer critique and support for efforts aimed at progress. It's been an enriching journey, albeit one that requires significant dedication and effort. I'm so happy and humbled that you've joined me, and I hope this forum contributes meaningfully to our ongoing discourse surrounding mental health.

Incredibly grateful to have found your Substack at some point within the past three years. Going strong, indeed.
